How to fix videos not displaying in Firefox (2016)

Mozilla Firefox is an excellent browser and one reason for that is the development team is constantly updating and improving it. The Mozilla team is particularly focused on security concerns, so security features are updated especially regularly.

The most recent security update to Firefox has been to block external content from appearing on a secure page, which makes good sense. Unfortunately for us, a lot of our units offer videos which are hosted through YouTube, and because YouTube is a separate website, the videos are now blocked by default.

Luckily, the solution is really quick and easy:

  1. Click the green padlock in the address bar

  2. Click on the > beside the site name
    2015-10-08-17-50-34-098f6b
  3. Select “Disable Protection for now”

Once you’ve done that, refresh the page and all the videos will appear.
